There are three main sources of funding available to support management development in Northern Ireland.
Leadership and Management
The Department for Employment and Learning is keen to encourage organisations to see the real benefits of investing in relevant and meaningful Leadership & Management training. It is recognised that this can be a key factor in improved productivity and success in the global business environment.

European Social Fund (ESF)
The Northern Ireland European Social Fund has some £166 million of financial funding. The programme is a key part of the EU's Lisbon Strategy for growth and jobs. It has two key aims:
• To help people into sustainable employment; and
• To improve workforce skills.
Seventy-six projects have been approved under the first call for Priority 1 of this Programme. The next call will be made in 2010. However, sole traders cannot apply.

European Lifelong Learning Programme (LLP)
The Lifelong Learning Programme (LLP) is a €6,970 million European funding programme which supports education and training across Europe. Running from 2007-2013, the LLP provides funding for all stages of lifelong learning, for activities at school, at college, at university, in the workplace and in the community. The LLP is made up of several different programmes offering a variety of opportunities.
